FAQs
I have not taken a 200-hour yoga training. Can I participate?
It depends. At the very least, all participants must have a consistent personal yoga practice with basic knowledge of common postures, practices, and philosophy. Beyond that, a 200-hour training or equivalent is a necessary foundation to teach your own on-going prenatal yoga classes. We’ve had past trainees who have taken a 200-hour training before taking ours, or simultaneously while they were enrolled in our training, or took one shortly after ours wrapped up. We have also had trainees who used our training to enhance other services for pregnant people, like chiropractic care or doula work. If your intention is to use the training in a unique way outside of traditional weekly classes, you may not need a 200-hour training under your belt. If you are unsure if it’s right for you, let’s chat.
I’d love to participate, but I’m having trouble finding childcare. Can I bring my baby?
Children are the reason pre/postnatal yoga exists! As teachers of pre/postnatal yoga, it is our job to support new parents and make their lives easier. It’s only natural that we extend this philosophy to our teacher trainees, as well. At the same time, your focus is required for you to get as much out of the training as possible. If you have a babe-in-arms who just wants to nurse and nap, bringing them along is fairly easy. If you have a rambunctious toddler who needs constant attention, it may not work as well. Participating in-person vs. online may also make a difference in your ability to be with your children during the training. Let’s talk about your specific situation and see what we can work out.
I would love to take this training, but I live far away. What do you suggest?
One of the silver linings of the pandemic is that the yoga world learned how to make online offerings work! Our Spring 2021 training was completely online and it worked better than we could have ever imagined! The schedule is such that the topics that are best in-person are covered during our first two full days. Hopefully, those that live far away will be able to travel here and stay for that time. We may even be able to help you find affordable accommodations. If you absolutely cannot travel here, we can be flexible about having you join online.
“Lotus Blossom’s prenatal teacher training was nothing short of amazing. Hillary and Jeanna have years of experience in the birthing and yoga world. Together bring a wealth of knowledge, and they also invite experts along the way who specialize in areas like nutrition, the psychology of birthing, and more. After the training, I felt completely confident in my ability to teach prenatal and mommy baby yoga. Highly recommend!”
